SUP!
Okay so, I have been telling a lot of people how to plan their painting and just make them better and easier from the start.
A lot of people spend hours and hours on paintings, that from the beginning have detail and they are not happy with them.

so if you really concentrate on the first ten to twenty minutes to just get everything that needs to be there, THERE.
Then you will have sooooo much more time to just add detail and colour, and it will turn out a lot better and a lot quicker
That's why I painted this image in about 10 minute to show its read for colour and detail
you do this, you have to just think what are the main things you want to show ( this will create the basic composition in your head)
then once you have a firm idea of what you need and don't you will have a VERY strong foundation.
then you will ad junk like gesture.

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ALL THE SKETCH, if you choose to start with one :<.

Okay then you start the values i.e. put in you back, mid & foreground, this will be very rough and loose to make easy changes.
(keep in mind we don"t want any detail.)

then once these two steps are done and you are happy with your image you will have a dark to light ( foreground to back ground) you will be ready to spend the rest of the painting actually paint, no constantly changing crazy perspective issues and huge lighting mistake, because it's all already done!

you will have soooooooooooo much more time to spend making it crisp and............................ idk funky? is that a cool word, agh forget it HAVE FUN!
EDIT: here is a link to the final image [link]

If is a personal work and you don't get fun, leave the piece. You can always open a new document and scribble something new.
